The Component UI API provides functions for integrating with the WinGate Management Console as well as creating standard user interface elements . The Component UI API provides the following types of UI elements.
| Element type | Description |

| Navigation Items | Nodes that sit in the navigation tree on the left side of the WinGate Management Console. Typically you provide a panel that appears when you click on your node. |
| Tasks | Text buttons that sit under the navigation tree. You can add, remove and edit tasks as well as task groups. Most existing modules in the WMC add tasks when they are navigated to in the tree and remove their tasks when the user navigates away. |
| Navigation Bar | Provides messages with optional links for navigating around the user interface. |
| Context Help | Shows HTML help based on the current navigation position in the navigation tree. |
